Historical record

The life behind the design.

The History

Emiliano Zapata grew up in Anenecuilco, Morelos, as village lands were being absorbed by large estates. He became a leading advocate for returning land to the people who worked it and helped formulate the Plan of Ayala in 1911. His Liberation Army of the South made agrarian reform one of the defining demands of the Mexican Revolution.

The Legacy

Zapata remains an international symbol of land, liberty, and the refusal to abandon ordinary people once power is within reach.

Warkind design notes

Wear the story forward.

The front pairs Zapata’s charro silhouette with “Tierra y Libertad.” The back shows him mounted before a revolutionary force and the Mexican flag, turning the garment into a moving banner for dignity and land.
